A FEW THINGS TO KNOW

Good questions.
Clear answers.

Understand what the card does and how your information stays under your control.

What is an iHealth Card?

iHealth Card is India’s secure QR-based Emergency Health Card. In an emergency, scanning the QR code immediately displays approved medical details (blood group, allergies, conditions) and connects first responders with emergency family contacts.

What is an Emergency Health Card and why do I need one?

An Emergency Health Card provides critical health and contact details when you cannot speak for yourself during medical emergencies or road accidents. It ensures doctors know your allergies and blood group immediately and helps connect with family.

How do emergency family alerts work when a card is scanned?

When a finder scans the iHealth Card QR, they can tap "Alert family" to immediately send automated WhatsApp or SMS emergency alerts to your registered family contacts, with optional real-time GPS location.

Do I need a special app to scan the Emergency Health Card?

No special app or reader is required. Any standard smartphone camera or QR scanner can instantly read the high-contrast QR code on your card to open the emergency profile in seconds.

Can one account manage multiple emergency health cards for family?

Yes. One account can manage unlimited individual cards for parents, children, spouses, and dependents. Each card has separate medical details, contacts, privacy controls, and renewals.

Is my medical data secure and DPDP Act 2023 compliant?

Yes. iHealth Card is engineered in strict compliance with India’s Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act 2023 with AES-256 field-level encryption, zero health data stored in the QR itself, and full owner privacy controls.

Does a scanner have to share their location?

No. Location sharing is optional. The scanner must explicitly choose whether to include their location with the family alert.

What happens if I lose my emergency health card?

Mark the card lost in your dashboard to immediately disable the old QR. You can reissue a new QR code without re-entering your medical profile.

Does iHealth Card automatically send an ambulance?

No. It is an emergency identification aid. The Call 112 action opens your phone dialer. For life-threatening emergencies, dial 112 immediately.
